OAK Supercomputing Conference (Spring 2023)
Introduction:
Welcome to the 2023 Spring OAK Supercomputing Conference! This is the first conference
in a series of semi-annual conferences for the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas (OAK)
region, bringing together supercomputing experts, researchers, and students from across
the region for a discussion and exploration of the latest trends and technologies
in the field of high-performance computing. Topics will include the relevance of machine
learning & artificial intelligence and data-driven applications in scientific research.
Focus: This workshop is designed for early and mid-career scientists, and students and post-docs. In particular, participants from different scientific domains who would like to learn how to use High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources and want to connect to the community of experts and users in the OAK region. During the conference, discussions will be held regarding building a community for sharing of HPC resources and knowledge know-how. Users who are new to HPC/supercomputers and want to learn about them are specially encouraged to attend.
We thank our sponsors!
Special Workshops offered during the conference (https://hpcc.okstate.edu/oak-conference-spring-2023-workshops.html):
1. NVIDIA will be sponsoring and offering a workshop on Introduction to Machine Learning.
2. OSU’s HPCC will be offering a hands-on workshop on Introduction HPC and Pete.
3. OSU’s HPCC will be offering an interactive workshop for High-School students on What are Supercomputers and What problems do they solve?
Future conferences are being planned to be held in Arkansas (Fall 2023) and Kansas (Spring 2024), and driven by an NSF MRI award (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2216084) for the development of a new regional supercomputer.
